Therapeutic Book Club

Our next book in our therapeutic book club is called “The Tools” by Phil Stutz and Barry Michels.

“The Tools” describes a dynamic, results-oriented practice that aims to deliver relief from persistent problems and restore control and hope. The book describes five tools that focus on getting unstuck, controlling anger, expressing yourself, combating anxiety and find discipline.

This book will be our guide as we apply “The Tools” to our own unique challenges. Through the use of sharing, somatic work and expressive arts, we will focus on taking this content deeper, from our minds into our heart and bodies.

While we still get together and read a book (like a traditional book club), we also use the book to do deeper personal work.

We apply the content to our own experiences. We share in circle and small groups, write, make art, and engage in somatic work, with the intention of deepening the learnings – moving it from our head into our heart and body.
